Freshney Place is the principal shopping centre in Grimsby town centre, developed on the site of the former Riverhead Centre and substantially redeveloped in 1989/90. The centre is home to around 60 stores, restaurants and services across Friargate and Baxtergate, anchored by Marks & Spencer, Primark and Next, with names including Boots, TK Maxx, JD Sports and Holland & Barrett. Freshney Place also houses Top Town Market, Grimsby's central library, and a range of jewellery, mobile phone and travel retailers, with two multi-storey car parks on site.
