Directions to Mersey Way : By car Merseyway is easily accessible from the M60 (Junction 1 also known as ‘the Pyramid’) by following the signs to Stockport town centre. If you’re using a sat nav, key in SK1 1PD, which should direct you to the Great Underbank entrance to the Merseyway Multi Storey car park. By bus Stockport’s main bus station is conveniently located, opposite the entrance to Merseyway on Mersey Square. There are many, frequent bus services running to and from Manchester, all areas around south Manchester and the wider Greater Manchester region. Calls cost 10p per minute from BT landlines, charges from other providers or mobiles may vary By train Stockport is a West Coast mainline station with trains running frequently to and from Manchester and surrounding towns and villages, as well as inter city services to London and north and south of the UK. Merseyway is a short walk from Stockport station – turn left out of the station main entrance (ticket hall side) and walk down to the main road (A6 Wellington Road). Cross over Wellington Road at Pelican crossing and walk down the hill to Mersey Square where you’ll see the main entrance to Merseyway on your right. The free Metro Shuttle bus (see info above) runs every 12 minutes on a circular route via Merseyway. Just ask the driver for ‘Merseyway’ if you’re not familiar with the area. There’s also a black cab taxi rank right outside the station. System One Travelcards If you’re travelling to Merseyway by public transport from outside Stockport, you may need to take more than one bus, or a combination of bus/train/tram to get here.
